A 51-year-old Taree man has been charged after he allegedly killed his mother’s cat.
Police believe, the man was giving the cat a flea treatment when it ran into a nearby bedroom last week.
It’s believed he followed the cat into the room, where he tortured and killed it.
He’s been granted conditional bail, to appear at Taree local court next month.
