Two north coast surfers have progressed to the round of 16 at the US Open at Huntington Beach in California.
Lennox Head’s Adam Melling, was the top scoring surfer in round four, after landing these stunning backside turns.
“I guess I got forced into he got the first wave and I didn’t think he was near it and I was on the right and he just motored onto it and got the seven so I was pretty much having to wait for a good one straight away.”
Byron Bay’s Garrett Parkes also progressed in the small swell, knocking out fellow Aussie Ryan Callinan with 12.7.
