  1. C’mon boys is a “strategy” 12 years too late really going to save us? this is our land, air ,water, homes, health, heritage, flora fauna & livelihoods. You said so yourselves, you cant get through all the information and compliance on every mine already in existence, but your only solution is to request more “info”? & your plan is to increase & consume more resources, despite breaching UN guidelines, world health levels & full on “worst practice” .You must be made of stone not to have felt the emotion in that civic centre. Kids not able to go to Playgroup for traffic fears, unable to breathe due to dust & asthma, generations that love & care for our country. But no significant impact? No real solutions.
    R U for real?

  2. Why wasnt an invitation extended directly to all the Mining Community Consultative Committees & members? maybe they could have even promoted something to the effected “mining” communities they purport to represent. Perhaps mining consult committees wernt directly invited because even the State Govt doesnt take these window dressing committees seriousy?

  3. what was with that disgusting map that was shown yesterday that was supposedly indicating the 2011 plans for areas effected by coal & gas seam mining? i have seen preschoolers make clearer maps with identifying features. would selecting contrasting colours & actually writing one word or placing one identifying feature have been that much trouble? we may have been looking at a map of Mars.
