A Hunter man’s been charged with possessing child abuse material, and using the internet to procure a person under 16.
Police from the Sex Crimes Squad arrested the 44-year-old at his workplace in Newcastle West this morning.
A tip-off from the public sparked investigations several months ago.
Police allege the man engaged in communication of a sexual nature with an officer who posed as a teenage girl online…
And that he was in possession of child abuse material, which police say was found at his Maryland home and a storage unit at Sandgate.
