FNCRU: PIONEERS REMAIN UNDEFEATED

The Alstonville Wollongbar Pioneers remain unbeaten in the Far North Coast Rugby Union competition, after downing Byron Bay at Lyall Park yesterday.

The Pioneers looked the goods right from the opening whistle – piling on three unanswered tries to take the early lead.

Despite an attempted fightback by the Eastern Rebels, the Pioneers stayed strong, winning 44 points to 15.

It was a closer affair at Lennox Head, as the Trojans battled City.

Lennox struggled to get on the board early but eventually found a way over courtesy of Harry Witt.

But City pressed on, ending up with a 24 points to 17 victory.
