A 79-year-old woman has died after being run over by her own car in a freak accident in the Hunter.
Police say the woman was reversing down the driveway of a bowling club in Aberdare, when her car suddenly accelerated onto a bowling green, throwing her and the passenger from the vehicle.
The driver was run over by the car and died a short time later.
The passenger, her 74-year-old sister, was not hurt.
