GOLF: HIGGINBOTTOM SECOND AT THE NATIONAL AMATEUR TITLES

Charlestown’s Jake Higginbottom has finished 2nd to a dominant Cameron Smith at the Australian Boys’ Amateur in Sydney.
The Australian Girls’ Amateur tournament saw Cathleen Santoso needing a birdie on the final hole to win – and produced this.
Hayley Bettencourt then dropped in a long putt to jump into equal 2nd.
Belmont’s Aliza Huff shot a final round 78 to finish 8th.
