LUKE MEPHAM ADDS HIS NAME TO CATHO CLASSIC WINNER’S LIST

Swansea’s Luke Mepham has taken out the 34th annual Catho Classic.
In the under 18’s, James McMorland from Caves Beach was simply too strong, but 11 year old Connor Lee proved he’s a star of the future, featuring in several finals.
In the blue ribbon event, defending champ Mick Spencer was knocked out before the decider and Mepham took full advantage, his first wave laying the platform for the win.
Drew McPherson tried every trick in the book at his home break, but still had to settle for second.
Merewether’s Paul Parkes admitted it wasn’t his day, as he edged into third.
