A 64-year-old man’s been sentenced to 14 years behind bars for murdering his wife at Lawrence, north of Grafton.
Jon Stephen McKenzie faced the New South Wales supreme court today, after pleading guilty to smothering his wife.
The body of 58-year old Rhonda McKenzie, was found in the pair’s home last November.
In sentencing, the court heard McKenzie had no criminal record, and the offence was inconsistent with his previous good character.
He’ll be eligible for parole in November 2020.
