An apparent child abduction attempt outside a Tweed Heads church has baffled police.
A six-year-old boy told them he was approached by a man inside the grounds of Elevation Church on Caloola Drive around midday on Sunday.
“It’s alleged that this person has grabbed hold of the six year old boy, has taken him in his arms approximately 80 metres from the front of the church there before letting the boy go.”
Police say there weren’t any witnesses, and details of the man are scant.
He’s been described as wearing dark clothing, and driving a black car with metallic paintwork.
