LIFESTYLE PROGRAM HELPING RESIDENTS REACH GOALS

A program designed to reduce the waistlines of Port Macquarie residents has been hailed a success, with more than 2,300 people taking part since its inception in 2012.

For 10 weeks, participants of Move Eat Live Well are taken through a range of exercise programs, cooking classes, and challenges which promote healthy living.

“98 per cent of people have had strengthened balance, improvements with weight loss, improvements with the awareness of the importance of physical activity and healthy eating.”

It’s funded through the federal government’s Healthy Communities Initiative.
