For former teammate Michael Hector though, the final race of the season in Sydney was one he’d rather forget.
An accident shortly after the start meant there were only six racing laps.
Ford driver Dale Wood claimed the title.
“I’m glad it’s done. Park it up, put the trophy on the mantlepiece, and spend some more time with these two.”
Kurri’s Casey Stoner finished outside the top 10, in his switch from two to four wheels.
