FOSTER CARER CHARGED WITH INDECENTLY ASSAULTING GIRL IN HIS CARE

A foster carer has been charged with indecently assaulting a 10-year-old girl.

The young girl came forward to police on Saturday night, reporting she had been assaulted by her foster carer.

The Child Abuse Squad in Newcastle charged a 57-year-old man last night, with three counts of aggravated assault.

He was granted conditional bail to appear in Belmont Local Court on Friday the 6 December 2013.

The girl has been removed from his care.
