LINEAR ACCELERATORS ARRIVE IN HUNTER

Hunter residents will soon have better access to cancer treatment, with two $3-million linear accelerators are being installed at the Genesis Cancer Care’s new centre at the Lake Macquarie Private Hospital.
It’s expected to take four engineers a total of four weeks to install the machines, that have come all the way from the UK.
100 cancer patients will be able to be treated every day, helping one in four Hunter people who don’t have radiotherapy close to home.
