A 55-year-old man will face Port Macquarie Local Court today, charged over an alleged attempted bank robbery at Laurieton, near Port Macquarie yesterday.
About 12:20pm, the man allegedly entered the bank on Bold Street and demanded cash while threatening staff with a syringe.
The staff member walked away from the counter and the man left the bank empty-handed. No one was injured during the incident.
A short time later a man was located and taken to Port Macquarie Police Station where he was charged with attempted robbery.
