There was a sensation in one of the biggest harness races in New Zealand today, with the heavily-backed favourite Christen Me forced to pull out of the Ashburton Flying Pace.
A tough day too for trainer Shane Tritton, from Keinbah near Cessnock, whose New Zealand Cup hopeful Suave Stewey Lombo blew the start, circled the field, then ran out of puff.
