A fire which ripped through Port Macquarie’s Kooloonbung Creek Nature Reserve early this morning could have been deliberately lit.
Firefighters were called to the back of the reserve at about 5:30, and spent more than three hours extinguishing the blaze.
A few hectares of land were destroyed, including parts of the community boardwalk.
Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing.
