LIFEGUARD SERVICES REMAIN UNDER COUNCIL’S CONTROL

Wyong Council says safety will not be compromised, despite cutting more than $600,000 from the lifeguard services budget, over the next three years.

Following this week’s meeting, lifeguards will remain under the control of the Wyong Shire council – winning a bid over two other tenders to continue to deliver the area’s beach safety services.

Mayor Doug Eaton says council employees have come up with some innovative savings, that will deliver the service much more efficiently.

The patrol season starts in just over a week’s time.
