Five fire crews arrived in the nick of time to save three homes on the foreshore at Pelican near Swansea.
A fire, which started just after 12.30 this afternoon, burnt out a hectare of nature reserve, and got within 10-metres of three cottages.
“Too close for comfort. About 20 minutes they’ve turned up and didn’t realise we have no water – running on tank water, so they’ve had to pump the salt water – got the chooks running around everywhere.”
