CHILLY START ON COAST

Getting out of bed was particularly difficult this morning as the Gold Coast shivered through its coldest morning in nine weeks.

Coolangatta residents suffered, with the mercury dipping to 4.1 degrees, and because it’s so dry it felt like more like 2.1 degrees.

But it didn’t stop some from a dip in the ocean.

“About 20 degrees it’s really nice, It was beautiful. No waves but really crystal clear and lovely way to start the day. How cold? Well it’s a little bit risky. Certainly been very, very fresh this morning. My husband said it was six degrees.”

The Weather Bureau says we’re in for another cold start tomorrow and Friday.
