Great Lakes Council has resolved to demolish the Forster School of Arts Hall and progress with its plans to develop a new civic precinct.
The condition of the hall has deteriorated considerably in past years, and council cannot afford to restore it.
Clearing the Little Street site is the first step in moving forward with its Civic Precinct Master Plan, which includes a larger library and community hall.
