BOWLING FOR BRAIN INJURY AWARENESS

Over 1.6 million Australians are affected by an acquired brain injury, and today, some of those individuals took to the greens in Port Macquarie for a game of barefoot bowls.

It was all part of Brain Injury Awareness Week, aimed at increasing public awareness of the benefits of research into the area.

“I think it’s really important that people feel normalised after they’ve been in a traumatic accident and have the opportunity to access appropriate services and also feel like they can reintegrate into the community.”
