Clive Palmer’s United Australia Party has endorsed Paul Teerman as the candidate for New England.
Mr Teerman, who works as a ranger, is based in Western Sydney.
He plans to visit the area next week to speak with locals about issues in the region.
Mr Teerman says he hopes people judge him on his party’s policies rather than the fact he’s not a local.
