The hot chocolate at Max Brenner was a little TOO hot for customers to handle this morning, when a blaze broke out in the store.
Both towers at The Oracle in Broadbeach were evacuated, after staff at the chocolate bar noticed smoke pouring from the kitchen.
The drama became an instant tourist attraction – and sparked panic among chocolate lovers, including injured Titan Jamal Idris.
“Anything but the chocolate, someone save the chocolate!”
“Looks like the fire was contained to a dishwasher, a motor in the dishwasher had burnt out not a major fire but creates a lot of smoke.”
Sea and Gold FM journalists didn’t have far to go for a news story – they were forced onto the footpath as part of the evacuation.
All workers were quickly allowed to return, once the building was cleared of smoke.
