Having spent five months out of the saddle recovering from a broken ankle, Hunter jockey Blake Spriggs has made a triumphant return – taking an impressive win at Cessnock this week onboard Caffeina.
“Opening up now, Timeless Prince to second but Caffeina will break through today.”
Spriggs finished his apprenticeship in March and is now looking to re-establish his successful partnership with Gai Waterhouse.
“She’s approached me and suggested that if I was to do a bit of work for her she would start giving me rides again so something to look forward to.”
Blake continues his comeback at Newcastle tomorrow.
