Former World Junior Triathlon Champion Ashley Gentle has lived up to her hype, pushing her way into fifth place at the International Triathlon sprint world series in Hamburg, over the weekend.
She challenged the world’s best, sticking with the break-away pack and finishing just seconds behind Germany’s Anna Haug, in a sprint to the finish.
“And gentle is in fifth place and there’s a big gap after that”
The Gold Coast’s Emma Moffat fell off the pace and finished 22nd, while fellow Queenslander Emma Jackson finished in the top ten with a respectable seventh.
