Former Crescent Head surfer Ellie-Jean Coffey has taken out the Australasian Junior Surf Pro series in Coffs Harbour.
She was outclassed in the third event of the series when Nicki Van Dyke from Victoria won the final – but Coffey had enough points overall to win the series.
The 18-year-old is now based on the Gold Coast and is looking forward to a short break.
“It’s been a long year and contests are pretty hard to win so I’m happy it’s all over and I’ve got it,” Coffey said.
In the men’s competition, Sydney surfer Jordan Lawlor won the final against Queenslander Jack Daggan.
