Few were surprised at the inclusion of international bowler of the year Aron Sherriff in the Australian squad to contest the eight nations event in Scotland next month.
The Jackaroos will arrive in the UK having won five gold and two silver medals at the most recent world championships in Adelaide last December.
The Ettalong bowling club member will take on the role of vice-captain.
The 19-member squad will also compete at next year’s Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast.
