Defending champions New South Wales have made the perfect start at the under-18 national hockey titles at Broadmeadow, beating Tasmania 4-nil.
Chris Boyle is the Hunter’s only representative, but it was Jackson Harrison who gave the Blues a three-nil lead, midway through the first half.
The tournament continues tomorrow with New South Wales to play South Australia.
