HOOLE AMONG FOUR JETS NAMED IN YOUNG SOCCEROOS SQUAD

The meteoric rise of Hunter-bred footballer Andrew Hoole continued today, with the Jets defender named in Paul Okon’s Young Socceroos squad for the Under 20 World Cup in Turkey.
“I didn’t even know 18 months ago that anything like this would come up … to be where I am now is a massive honour and I’m looking forward to the task ahead.”
In two years he’s gone from Newcastle’s NBN State League to the international stage.
“I think making the step up to the A-League was a massive one because if I’m not in that environment then I don’t get a look in to be honest.”
Fellow Jets Adam Taggart, Josh Brillante and Connor Chapman also made the cut.
The Young Socceroos play a friendly against New Zealand next Monday, before heading overseas on Tuesday.
