An expert panel examining water contamination in Port Stephens has expanded an investigation zone and fishing ban.
A new map released today, shows an extended area of investigation about 6 kilometres to the east, to include major surface water drains and creeks between the original boundary and the closed Tilligerry Creek fisheries area.
Residents living within the investigation area are advised NOT to eat fish, prawns, wild oysters or eggs from the area.
