PUSH FOR DAY TO HONOUR COUNTRY MUSIC LEGEND

The push for a National Slim Dusty Day has made its way to parliament.
Member for Parkes Mark Coulton raised the issue yesterday, amid increased calls for June 13 to be recognised in honour of the country music great.
It’s been almost 10 years since Slim passed away.
Mr Coulton says the Australian icon deserves recognition, particularly for his work with Aboriginal communities.
He’s urging others to show their support for the campaign by heading to the Slim Dusty birthday bash at Rooty Hill RSL on June 13.
