NASHOS MARCH OF REMEMBRANCE
Known as ‘nashos’, nearly 300,000 Australian men completed National Service between 1951 and 1972, and on the weekend they were remembered in Tamworth.
The Oxley National Servicemen’s Association holding a special service at Tamworth’s Salvation Army chapel.
Although the group was small, there was no lack of pride and support.
First there was a traditional march, followed by a church ceremony, giving ex-servicemen and their families a chance to pay their respects.
