Anger is mounting on the Tweed, over the sacking of Council’s General Manager of just 10 months, David Keenan.
A rally planned for next Tuesday afternoon outside Council Chambers has been moved to Murwillumbah Showgrounds, due to increased interest.
“When you have businesses that are prepared to shut their doors at four o’clock in the afternoon to attend a rally, that have already got their signs ready to go – they’ve had enough. It is a sad state of affairs when people who’ve got families and businesses to run get to a point where they have to make a stand, and I think it’s now.”
A public meeting earlier this week attracted 200 ratepayers, business owners and farmers.
