COAL DUST NETWORK MOVES CLOSER

Plans are moving ahead for a $2-2-million coal industry-funded air quality monitoring network in the Hunter.

A 13-member committee formed to oversee the project met for the first time today.

It’s tasked with finding the right locations for 14 monitoring devices.

The New South Wales Government announced the initiative last October, after residents raised concerns about coal dust and potential health implications.
