The Gold Coast and Hinterland Environment Council, is urging locals not to ignore concerns raised in other regions about coal seam gas.
A number of mining companies have declared interests in the Tweed and Scenic Rim.
“Even though it’s out of sight out of mind. Most Gold Coast people, it will eventually affect and once our farmland is affected it takes away our food security.”
GECKO this week took its concerns to the offices of local federal MPs.
