TWEED ROADS LOOKING WORSE FOR WEAR AFTER WILD WEATHER

If you’ve driven around the Tweed lately, no doubt it was a bumpy ride.

Weeks of wild weather have taken their toll on roads in the shire, with more than 900 millimetres of rainfall recorded since the start of the year.

Numinbah Road is still closed due to a number of dangerous landslips, while Round Mountain Road is also out of action.

Council says crews are doing their best to work through the backlog, but is asking motorists to be patient as persistent rain is hampering repair efforts.
