Work to replace the Salt Water Creek Bridge is set to start at the beginning of next week.
The single lane timber bridge will be replaced with a new dual lane concrete version.
The bridge height will also be raised to better cope with flooding in the area.
Hastings Council says it expects the project to take around 12 weeks to complete.
