Byron Council has received close to 200 public submissions on a controversial development application that could see a KFC open its doors in Byron Bay.
The applicants have already signed a 10-year lease on a store in the Byron Plaza which was vacated earlier this year.
Mayor, Simon Richardson has expressed his opposition to the plan and will be at the Byron market collecting signatures for a petition tomorrow.
Public submissions close on the fourth of February.
