ANNA BAY’S CHRIS MICHALAC BOOKS HIS PLACE AT SURFEST

Anna Bay’s Chris Michalac has produced a perfect 10, to earn a place in the open men’s six star event at Surfest.
Michalac used his local knowledge to great effect, scoring an impressive 19.5 in the final of today’s trials.
Merewether’s Jesse Adam was also making the most of the tricky conditions, but couldn’t get his hands on the wildcard.
Another local, Kurtis Herman, was keen to book a place in the Pro Junior’s round of 64, but it was James McMoreland from Caves Beach who crashed the party.
Sara Phelan will be hoping to produce more than this at Merewether Beach, after qualifying for the open women’s event.
