A 14-year-old Gold Coast boy has been winched to safety by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter after being trapped in rocks near Turners Beach at Yamba late yesterday.
Rescuers say the boy from the Gold Coast got into difficulties while swimming and was washed into rocks.
With a suspected broken ankle, he sheltered in a nearby cave.
About 6:30pm, the Westpac Rescue Helicopter was able to winch the boy to safety.
