DRAGON BOAT COMPETITORS PADDLING FOR SELECTION

More than 50 dragon boat enthusiasts from around the north coast will slice through the Clarence River on Saturday seeking state selection.
Grafton will be well represented with fourteen contenders, while the Clarence Coast Dragon Boat Club’s four members will also be trying their luck.
Three teams comprising an Open, Women’s and a Mixed crew will be selected from those who take part.
The northern region teams will then paddle against rivals at the state titles in Sydney in March ahead of the Australian Championships in April.
Dragon boat racing is regarded as the fastest growing water sport in Australia.
