TEENAGE BOY FACES COURT OVER ARMED ROBBERY IN LISMORE

A teenage boy will face court today over the armed robbery of a caravan park in South Lismore.

At around 11:15am yesterday the 16-year-old boy threatened staff of the caravan park with a knife, demanding money.

A male staff member chased him as he fled on foot with a small amount of cash.

It is alleged the teenager again threatened the staff member with a knife before dropping the money and running away.

He was stopped nearby by police from Richmond Local Area Command, who allegedly found a knife and cash in his possession.

The teenager was taken to Lismore Police Station where he was charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon and common assault to face Lismore Children’s Court today.
