The Newcastle Coal Infrastructure Group coal loader has marked a milestone.
Since it began operating in 2010, it’s now taken part in the export of 50-million tonnes of coal from the port.
That’s 656 ships, the most recent heading for South Korea.
Construction of the final stage of the terminal is well underway, and with the completion of a dredging program, it will take its capacity up to 66-million tonnes a year.
