Up to 21 new jobs will be created in Coffs Harbour as part of a plan to decentralise the state Fisheries Department.
Only seven of the positions will be filled by current employees relocating from the Cronulla Research Centre.
The Member for Coffs Harbour Andrew Fraser says there’s been strong interest from locals in the jobs advertised.
He says there were forty-five applicants for just one of the new postions.
