An elderly man led police on a high speed pursuit along the New England Highway near Bendemeer shortly before 5 o’clock yesterday afternoon.
Police say the 80-year-old man driving a Hyundai Getz crossed into oncoming traffic and reached speeds of more than 150-kilometres per hour before road spikes deflated the vehicle’s tyres.
The man’s been charged with a number of driving offences, including Skye’s Law.
