Emergency services were given the run around last night after witnesses reported seeing a light plane skim the ocean and disappear into the sea off Pottsville.
“The plane come directly over the dairy. The bloody cows all fell down in the herringbone bale and the couple that were left in the yard with the milk – they just went straight over the fence.”
A full scale search operation was launched before police located the plane safe and sound at the Tyagarah airport.
It turned out the aircraft was a Rural Fire Service water bomber on a training flight.
