The launch of ‘Our House” wasn’t the only good news for Far North Coast cancer patients.
It’s been four years in the making but today, Lismore Base Hospital unveiled its brand new state of the art PET and MRI scanner.
“This machine new machine makes Lismore Base the most advanced regional hospital in New South Wales.”
The $2.6 million dollar piece of technology will be used to diagnose different types of cancer, study blood flow to the brain and find damaged heart tissue.
“It means that people can be treated closer to home and we know when you are treated closer to home you are more likely to go and have treatment and have better outcomes.”
