It might have been the opening of a playground but the state government and council today called it the rebirth of a suburb.
The quarter-of-a-million dollar two-year project in Islington Park was seen as a vital step to creating a family environment in the once troubled suburb.
“This place has changed a lot in the last five years and this activity in the park really helps with that as well.”
