A new report shows wild dogs have become a significant financial burden on landholders.
More than 1000 farmers were surveyed by the department of agriculture, with results showing each farmer spends close to $7500 on average, on trapping and baiting annually.
In terms of livestock losses and disease transmission, the problem is costing the industry upwards of $70-million a year.
In recent weeks the federal government has invested a further $1-million for the continuation of the National Wild Dog Action Plan.
